cardee crazy!!!

Assalamualaikum!
Yayyy its gaji (salary) day today!!! Im so gonna spend it at jakel to make a long cardee inspired by the lovely indonesian fashion designer fitri aulia!take a look at her creation here

Its a beautiful long cascading cardee! In my opinion..everybody should have one of these darlings because its so versatile, stylish and we must not forget..Modest! I have already made a few cardigans of my own..experimenting with different textures n materials. I usually work with cotton lycra because its easy n i dont have to serger anything! (So lazy!!) 

Here is one example i did with denim lycra! a cascading cardee! Love it soo much! The material is a bit stiff so it looks  like a jacket or a a blazer! Perfect for chilly enviroments hehe. Now this lovely flowy dreamy cardee i made with chiffon! I was afraid to use it at first but i just gave it a go..this is how it turned out..

why I d.i.y...n not buy..

Assalamualaikum! 
Wow..im soo excited to finally have my own blog on diy n fashion! I know the title of this entry is a bit cheesy but it just rhymes perfectly! Im not a fashion freak or geek or a fashionista..im just your regular gal who is constantly bored with her wardrobe. Most of the time..I feel like there is absolutely nothing to wear!*clothes spills out of wardrobe*..

Why do I diy? (Again it rhymes! )

Hmm maybe because im completely, obsessive about sewing and compulsively n constantly thinking about new stuff that I could possibly create? Yeah I think so...

Sometimes its because nothing fits me anymore...yes it can be difficult for some women having to adjust to their new body type..I used to be petite..now im large petite..haha they should create a new size category.

I diy because that gorgeous dress is ridiculously expensive! So I run to my fav textile shop Jakel which is kind of like the Mood Textile shop at new york project runway n I choose a material to make a dress.

The last reason why I diy is because..I need to feel satisfied..a sense of achievement n something to channel my creative vibes. By diying...it fulfills all of that!

So I salute those who r brave enough to create n not just spend ur kachings on them lovely things..
